Q: How do I fight battles?
A: All battles in HTE2 are player vs. player. To fight, simply find another player who is close to you in level. Challenge them, and wait for them to accept, then fight. :)

Q: What does each of the jobs do?
A: Check the Jobs List.

Q: What is gold for? How do I buy items?
A: Inventory is not yet implemented in this stage of the beta. Eventually, you will be able to buy items with your gold. For now, its just there, ignore it.

Q: How much JP does it take to level up a job?
A:
Job Level 0: 0
Job Level 1: 10
Job Level 2: 25
Job Level 3: 50
Job Level 4: 100
Job Level 5: 200
Keep in mind, this is seperate for each job, and seperate from your character's actual Level.

Q: Another player's characters are at the same level as me, but they're much stronger. Why?
Q: I used the Level Handicap in battle, but the other player was still much stronger. Why?
A: Stats for your characters are not only based on your level, they are also based on your job level.
By leveling up in different jobs, you gain stats for your character. For instance, for each Knight Job Level a character gains, they gain 7 STR, 5 VIT, and 1 SPD.
Level handicaps only affect levels, not job levels. Therefore even a player with a large level handicap may be significantly stronger than you, as they retain job stats and abilities.
UPDATE: This has been fixed, handicaps now take away a portion of job stats as well.
However, higher leveled players will still retain their more powerful abilities.
